Will Smith’s Apology for Chris Rock Slap Leaves us a Little “foggy”

Why didn’t you apologize to Chris Rock during your Oscars acceptance speech?

“I was pretty fogged out by that point. It’s all fuzzy”

Words from The Q&A style video Smith posted across social media today.

I’m sure we all Remember watching Smith stride onstage after Rock made a crack about Smith's wife's short haircut. (Jury’s still out on if Rock knew Jada suffers from Alopecia) Smith slapped Rock in the face, then sat back down in the audience and yelled expletives at him.

“KEEP MY WIFES NAME OUT YO F**** MOUTH!”

Smith went on to win the best actor Oscar for his role in the film King Richard. Days later, he resigned from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which then banned him from its events for 10 years.

"Chris, I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable and I'm here whenever you're ready to talk," Smith said Friday in the video, adding that he had reached out to Rock who told him he’s not ready to talk yet.

The video is worth a watch but I must admit I cringed at a lot of Smith’s answers. It just did not seem genuine to me. But many of us know personally how hard it can be to humble yourself and apologize, right? Sooooo I’m giving ol’ Will the benefit of the doubt. Let’s see how this plays out but I think this is just the beginning if he wants to truly recover his career
